Christopher is a partner with the law firm of Weiss, Schmidgall & Hires, P.C. located in Merrillville, Indiana. He is also a public defender in Gary City Court. Attorney Schmidgall graduated from Illinois State University in 1998 and Valparaiso University School of Law in 2002. Attorney Schmidgall is board certified by the American Board of Certification as a consumer bankruptcy specialist since 2014. Attorney Schmidgall is married to Erin Schmidgall, who for more than 20 years, has proudly served as a middle school teacher with the Valparaiso Community School Corporation. He is also the proud father of two children, his daughter a sophomore at Washington Township High School, and son a student at Purdue University in West Lafayette.
Attorney Schmidgall is a member and past council member and president at Christ Lutheran Church in Valparaiso. He also volunteers as a mock trial coach and is the co-chair of the Lake County Bar Association Bankruptcy and Creditor’s Rights Section. Attorney Schmidgall is honored to also serve as a volunteer attorney with Project Rebuild Gary.
